The Grand Hall at Power and Light Wedding
Kansas City Wedding Photographer
“I'm not exaggerating when I say that Hallie is the shiniest, most talented person in the biz and maybe on this planet! She is the perfect combination of friendly, professional, kind, and boy is she an amazing photographer. Once we saw her portfolio, we knew that we had to work with Hallie. She was very communicative throughout our whole process and we did both our engagement photos and wedding photos with her and her team. I cannot stress enough that Hallie was the best person to work with and we truly feel like the images she captured represent all of the love and magic from our wedding.” - Emily & Vince.
Kansas City Wedding Florist
Emily and Vince’s wedding florals were commissioned by Trapp and Company in Kansas City. Emily had an amazing bouquet of white orchids, I had never seen anything like it! Trapp is a wonderful company to work with and their work in Emily and Vince’s reception space had everyone completely in awe.
Wedding Portraits at The Nelson Atkins
We stopped to do portraits of Emily and Vince’s wedding party at The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. I love the historic architecture and the variety of scenery around the exterior of the museum. Wedding Bands in Kansas City
There’s just something about having a band at a wedding reception that really sets the mood. Patrick Lentz band did an amazing job, from the solo performance during cocktail hour on the balcony above the reception space to keeping the crowd moving with their amazing dance floor tunes and seamless MC skills. I’ve loved every wedding I’ve ever gotten to work with these folks. Their skills are beyond incredible and nothing makes a wedding more fun to photograph than a dance floor full of guests who are ready to party.
Kansas City Wedding at The Grand Hall
The Grand Hall at the Power and Light building is one of the most iconic downtown Kansas City wedding venues a person could dream of. With it’s gorgeous art-deco interior and it’s home in the heart of P&L, it makes the perfect backdrop for a wedding day. When Emily and Vince told me this is where they’d be having their wedding, I was ecstatic. Any opportunity to photograph in this space feels like a blessing! We immediately clicked over our shared time living in New York City and our love for doodles. I loved getting to work with these two and their amazing families. Thanks to Lisa Forbes with Simple Elegance, the entire day ran so smoothly. I love working here for so many reasons! This beautiful Art Deco building was build in 1931, and the architecture is unmatched. There are two spacious suites for both of the wedding parties to get ready, making it a perfect setting for getting ready, ceremony and reception. Nothing beats not having to leave the space when you’re starting the day. The mezzanine has a gorgeous view of downtown and is the perfect space to host cocktail hour if the reception space needs to be flipped after your ceremony. The Grand Hall is in a perfect location downtown, making it easy to get to from the airport and walking distance from tons of bars, restaurants, and hotels for your guests!
